Help & troubleshooting
“This file is password-protected or encrypted”
Our tools can’t open encrypted PDFs. Open the file in the app you normally use, enter the password, and save or print it as a new PDF without a password. Only do this for files you’re allowed to change.
“Not a valid PDF” or “appears to be damaged”
The file may be incomplete (for example, a download that didn’t finish) or not really a PDF despite its name. Try downloading it again, or open it in another PDF viewer and use “Save as PDF” or “Print to PDF” to create a clean copy.
“Not a supported file”
We check the actual content of each file, not just its name. A file renamed from .docx to .pdf won’t work. Each tool page lists the formats it accepts.
Large files are slow or the page stops responding
Because processing happens on your device, speed depends on its memory and processor. Phones and older computers may struggle with files near the size limits. Try closing other tabs, splitting the job into smaller parts, or using a computer.
The download doesn’t start
Some browsers ask for permission before downloading several files or block downloads in private mode. Check your browser’s download bar or settings. On iPhone and iPad, downloaded files appear in the Files app under Downloads.
The output looks different from the original
Page tools (merge, split, organize) copy pages exactly. Compression at Medium or Strong turns pages into images; PDF-to-image rendering can differ slightly from other viewers for unusual fonts or effects. If something looks wrong, please tell us — describe the problem and which tool you used. Please don’t send confidential documents.
