Your files are processed entirely in your browser. They are not uploaded to our servers, and nothing is kept after you close or reload the page.

How to use Compress PDF

  1. Choose a PDF.
  2. Pick a compression level. Start with Basic; use Medium or Strong if you need a much smaller file.
  3. Select Compress PDF. You’ll see the new size before downloading.

Good to know

  • Basic restructures the file without touching content. Savings are usually modest and some files won’t shrink at all.
  • Medium and Strong turn each page into a JPEG image. Text stops being selectable or searchable, and links and form fields are lost.
  • If the result is not smaller than the original, we tell you instead of offering a larger file.

Frequently asked questions

Why is my compressed file barely smaller?

PDFs that are mostly text are already compact. Big savings usually come from large photos or scans, which the Medium and Strong levels reduce.

Will the text still be selectable?

With Basic, yes. With Medium or Strong, no — each page becomes an image.

Is compression done on a server?

No. Everything runs in your browser, so the file never leaves your device.
